Progressing Ballet Technique®

Tools to move with greater alignment, control, confidence, and artistry. Ages 9 and up.

Train with Purpose.
Move with Confidence.

When dancers understand how their bodies support classical ballet technique, everything begins to change. Barre work becomes more connected. Center work feels more stable. Turns, extensions, jumps, and transitions are supported by strength from the inside out.

At COYB, our certified PBT classes give dancers targeted tools to strengthen the work they are already doing in the studio, helping them grow safely, thoughtfully, and with greater confidence at every level.

Muscle Memory Training

Develop the awareness to activate the right muscles at the right time, building stronger habits that support cleaner, more confident technique.

Core Strength & Stability

Strengthen the deep core muscles dancers rely on for balance, control, coordination, and safe, supported movement in class and on stage.

Weight Placement & Alignment

Understand alignment and weight placement more clearly, creating greater posture, precision, and technical clarity in every movement.

Why Choose Progressing Ballet Technique

Training That Strengthens the Whole Dancer

Progressing Ballet Technique is designed to work alongside traditional ballet classes, not replace them. While ballet class teaches dancers vocabulary, artistry, musicality, and technical application, PBT gives dancers targeted tools to better understand how those movements are supported in the body.

Through focused conditioning, dancers begin to connect the “how” behind their training, building strength, awareness, and control they can carry directly into barre, center work, rehearsal, and performance.

Injury Prevention Through Strength, Alignment, and Control

PBT helps dancers strengthen the muscles that support technical movement, including the deep core, stabilizing muscles, and muscles surrounding the joints. This added strength creates more stability and control, helping dancers move with greater confidence while reducing unnecessary strain.

By emphasizing alignment, balanced muscle use, and proper technique, PBT encourages healthier movement patterns that support dancers as their training becomes more demanding.

Confidence That Carries Into Every Step

One of the most valuable parts of PBT is the way it teaches dancers to understand their own bodies. Through slow, intentional exercises, dancers learn how muscles work together, where their alignment is, and how to recognize safe, supported movement.

This deeper body awareness helps dancers improve flexibility with control, build coordination, and develop the confidence to approach their training with greater precision, strength, and care.

Take the next step in your dancer’s journey.

At COYB, PBT helps dancers understand how their bodies support their technique, giving them the strength, confidence, and control to keep growing into the very best version of themselves.
